Professor Carol Davids, Director of the IIT RTCL spoke at the SIPNOC Conference in Washington DC on June 27, 2012. Among other topics, her presentation featured the school’s NG 9-1-1 ESInet, ICE 5 plans for 2012 and showcased the Assure911 and IIT Laboratory Testing work completed in 2011 for the Counties of Southern Illinois (CSI).

The CSI Pilot Project is to be the first rural NG9-1-1 project sanctioned by NENA in the USA. The Illinois Commerce Commission (ICC) is reviewing the CSI Pilot Project Application. CSI is actively responding to queries from ICC Staff and Carriers such as AT&T and Frontier Communications.
